Prof. Te-Wei Chiu is presently working as a professor at the Department of Material and Mineral Resources Engineering, National Taipei University of Technology, Taiwan. He received a B.S in chemistry in 1995 from National Cheng-Kong University and an M.S in chemistry in 1997 from the National Chong-Chen University, Taiwan. He obtained his PhD degree in Material Science Engineering from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, in 2003. He then worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the Tsukuba Research Centre for Interdisciplinary Material Science, Tsukuba University (2003–2005). He worked at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial and Science Technology (AIST), Japan, from 2005 to 2008. His areas of research interest include the application of nanomaterials and functional oxides for energy technology, such as the synthesis of nanoparticles (0D), fiber (1D), thin films (2D), and oxides that are porous (3D) and tubular in shape.
