Information

Dr Peter Sanciolo has conducted scientific research, largely in the area of water treatment, since 1998. He is currently Research Fellow at Victoria University‘s Institute for Sustainable Industries & Liveable Cities. His recent research activities have been largely in the area of high-recovery reverse osmosis (RO) processes, membrane distillation (MD) of dairy process streams, decentralised potable water supply and wastewater treatment, stormwater harvesting, and the use of pasteurisation as an alternative technology for pathogen reduction during wastewater recycling. He has also conducted research and development work on a novel blue-green algae detector and performed desktop studies on inland wastewater desalination for agricultural applications and on food waste management. His postgraduate research student supervision has included projects on high-recovery RO, MD distillation of dairy process streams, selective salt recovery from brine streams, and caustic recovery from pulp and paper process streams using electrodialysis.
