Prof. Dr. Yulong Zhang currently works as a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the Guangdong Province Key Laboratory for Agricultural Resources Utilization, College of Natural Resources and Environment, South China Agricultural University, China. He holds a Ph.D. gained from the State Key Laboratory of Organic Geochemistry, Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (Master and Doctoral), and completed a joint doctoral program at the University of South Carolina. He finished his postdoctoral fellowship at the Key Laboratory of Mineralogy and Ore Formation, Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research fields are the biogeochemical process and resource utilization of natural organic matter, and the impact of organic matter circulation on the environmental behavior of organic pollutants and heavy metal pollutants. His research includes the coupling relationship between the geochemical process of natural organic matter and the environmental behavior of phenanthrene and cadmium pollutants, the research and development of lignin, keratin environmental materials, and soil cadmium, and lead pollution reduction technology. The ultra-stable hydrogel-loaded nanomaterials he developed can significantly reduce the cadmium content in contaminated rice fields, and the related technology provides new ideas for repairing farmland contaminated by heavy metals.
