Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are gaining popularity due to their expanding uses in industrial and technical processes, such as geothermal reservoirs, water and air filters, coatings, solar collection, ceramic material reinforcement, electrostatic dissipation, etc . In addition, the CNTs have superior electrical conductivity and biocompatibility. Based on the aforementioned applications, the current work examines the time-dependent and Darcy–Forchheimer flow of water/glycerin-based Casson hybrid nanofluid formed by single-walled CNTs and multi-walled CNTs over a Riga plate under velocity slip. The energy expression is modeled through nonlinear thermal radiation and viscous dissipation impacts. The incorporation of convective boundary condition into the current model improves its realism. By employing suitable variables, the governing models are re-framed into ordinary differential equations. The bvp4c and the homotopy analysis method are used to find the computational results of the re-framed equations and boundary conditions. The novel characteristics of a variety of physical parameters on velocity, temperature, skin friction coefficient (SFC), and local Nusselt number (LNN) are discussed via graphs, charts, and tables. It is found that the fluid velocity decays when enriching the Forchheimer number, unsteady and porosity parameters. The radiation parameter plays an opposite role in convective heating and cooling cases. The modified Hartmann number enhances the surface drag force, and the Forchheimer number declines the SFC. The unsteady parameter develops the heat transfer rate, and the Forchheimer number suppresses the LNN. The simulated flow problem has many applications in engineering sectors, including ceramic manufacture, heating and cooling systems, energy storage units, thermodynamic processes, and other fields.

In this paper, we explored the impact of thermally radiative MHD flow of Williamson nanofluid over a stretchy plate. The flow in a stretchy plate is saturated via Darcy–Forchheimer relation. Cattaneo–Christov heat-mass flux theory is adopted to frame the energy and nanoparticle concentration equations. Additionally, the mass transfer analysis is made by activation energy and binary chemical reaction. Activation energy is invoked through the modified Arrhenius function. The intention of the current investigation is to enhance the heat transfer rate in industrial processes. The non-Newtonian nanofluids have more prominent thermal characteristics compared to ordinary working fluids. The governing models are altered into ODE models, and these models are numerically solved by applying the MATLAB bvp4c algorithm. The graphical and tabular interpretations have scrutinized the impact of sundry distinct parameters. The fluid speed escalates for enhancing the Richardson number, and it falls off for higher values of the Weissenberg number. It is noticed that the fluid temperature declines for higher values of the Brownian motion parameter and it grows for larger values of the thermophoresis parameter. The activation energy enriches the heat transfer gradient and suppresses the local Sherwood number. Additionally, the more significant heat transfer gradient occurs in heat-absorbing nonradiative viscous nanofluid and a smaller heat transfer gradient occurs in heat-generating radiative Williamson nanofluid. Also, we noticed that a higher heat transfer gradient appears in the Fourier model than in the Catteneo–Christov model. In addition, the comparative results are confirmed and reached an outstanding accord.

The physical phenomena of convective flow of Cross fluid containing carboxymethyl cellulose water over a stretching sheet with convective heating were studied. Cross nanofluid containing Al2O3, Cu nanoparticles, and based fluid of CMC water is used. Entropy generation minimization is examined in the current analysis. The system of PDEs is altered into a set of ODEs through suitable conversion. Further, these equations are computed numerically through the MATLAB BVP4c technique. The behavior of governing parameters on the velocity, temperature, entropy generation, and Bejan number is plotted and reported via graphs. It is found that the larger value of unsteady variable reduced the velocity, thermal layer, and entropy production. Surface drag frication of the Al2O3 and Cu and Al2O3 + Cu is enhanced with the more presence of unsteady parameter. Comparison of current results in a limiting case is obtained with earlier analysis and found an optimum agreement.

This paper scrutinizes the consequences of radiation and heat consumption of MHD convective flow of nanofluid on a heated stretchy plate with injection/suction and convective heating/cooling conditions. The nanofluid encompasses with and nanoparticles. We enforce the suited transformation to remodel the governing mathematical models to ODE models. The HAM (homotopy analysis method) idea is applied to derive the series solutions. The divergence of fluid velocity, temperature, skin friction coefficient, local Nusselt number, entropy generation, and Bejan number on disparate governing parameters is exhibited via graphs and tables. It is seen that the fluid velocity in both directions is subsided when elevating the magnetic field and Forchheimer number. Also, the nanoparticles possess hefty speed compared to nanoparticles because the density of nanoparticles is high compared to that of nanoparticles. The fluid temperature upturns when enlarging the heat generation and radiation parameters. The skin friction coefficients and local Nusselt number are high in nanoparticles than in nanoparticles.
