Prof. Dr. Yanhu Mu holds a bachelor’s degree from Xi’an Jiaotong University and a master’s and doctoral degree from the Cold and Arid Regions Environmental and Engineering Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is a researcher and doctoral supervisor at the Northwest Institute of Eco-Environment and Resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research areas are geotechnical engineering and cold region engineering and environment. He is the vice chairman of the Youth Work Committee of the Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering Branch of the China Civil Engineering Society. He was the secretary of the Chinese Cryospheric Science Society and a director of the Gansu Society of Mechanics. He has undertaken the National Natural Science Foundation Youth Fund, the National Natural Science Foundation General Project, the Chinese Academy of Sciences level instrument and equipment development project, the Qinghai Provincial Water Resources Department emergency project, and the Gansu Provincial Transportation Department scientific research project. He has published papers as the first author in Energy, Engineering Geology, Sciences in Cold and Arid Regions, Cold Regions Science and Technology, and the Journal of Cold Regions Engineering. He has won the first prize of Gansu Province Science and Technology Progress Award.
