Grissel Trujillo-de Santiago is an Assistant Professor in the School of Engineering and Sciences at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico. She holds a B.Sc. in Pharmacy, Chemistry, and Biology (Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León; 2007), an M.Sc. in Biotechnology (Tecnológico de Monterrey; 2009), and a Ph.D. in Biotechnology (Tecnológico de Monterrey; 2014). Grissel Trujillo conducted research in the Di Maio Laboratory at the University Federico II (Naples, Italy) and postdoctoral research in the Khademhosseini Laboratory at Harvard-MIT Health Science and Technology and in the Microsystems Technology Laboratory at MIT (2015-2017). Her current research focuses on Tissue Engineering, Biofabrication, and Bioprinting with an emphasis on the development of novel fabrication platform-technologies based on chaos to produce multilayered complex 3D micro-structured living tissues. Professor Trujillo-de Santiago is a Member of the Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (Nivel II) in México, the International Society of Biofabrication (ISBF), the Materials Research Society (MRS), and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). She has received numerous awards including the For Women in Science Fellowship from the L’Oréal-UNESCO-AMC-CONACyT foundation and the Romulo Garza award for research that leads to entrepreneurship. Trujillo is an Associate Editor at ACS Materials Letters and a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee for the United Nations University (LATAM Programme).
