Prof. Jianghua Shen has been a professor at the School of Aeronautics at Northwestern Polytechnical University since July 2019. He graduated from Zhejiang University with a B.S. in 2008 and received his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2015 and his Ph.D. in solid mechanics from Northwestern Polytechnical University in 2016. From 2015 to 2018, he was a postdoctoral researcher and adjunct associate professor at the Institute of Engagement Science, Osaka University, Japan. He is engaged in the research of the powder metallurgy preparation of advanced structural materials, the lightweight design of structures, structural/material impact failure, and other fields, including damage failure, the fracture and failure mechanism of titanium, aluminum, magnesium, and other light alloys in extreme environments. He has published more than 70 SCI papers, presided over/participated in three national and provincial key research and development projects, and won the Outstanding Young Scholar of Explosive Mechanics of the Chinese Society of Mechanics, the Youth Science and Technology Award of Shaanxi Aeronautical Society, etc.
