Biography

Abdulhalim Karaşin is a Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering, Dicle University, Turkey. He earned his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Middle East Technical University (METU), focusing on advanced structural analysis and foundation systems. His doctoral research introduced an improved finite grid solution for plates on generalized foundations. He also holds an M.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Fırat University, where he studied seismic design principles for reinforced concrete structures in high-risk earthquake zones. Prof. Karaşin has extensive academic and professional experience in structural engineering and earthquake-resistant design. His research interests include structural analysis, soil–structure interaction, plate and foundation modeling, and earthquake engineering. He has published numerous journal articles, conference papers, and book chapters, and actively contributes to national and international research projects. He teaches courses such as Structural Analysis, Foundation Engineering, and Earthquake-Resistant Design. His current work focuses on improving computational methods for structural systems and developing innovative solutions for seismic safety in civil engineering applications.
