Complexes [(dpp-BIAN)0CoIII2]·MeCN (I) and [(Py)2CoI2] (II) were synthesized by the reaction between cobalt(II) iodide and 1,2-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenylimino)acenaphthene (dpp-BIAN) or pyridine (Py), respectively. The molecular structures of the complexes were determined by X-ray diffraction. The Co(II) ions in both compounds are in a distorted tetrahedral environment (CoN2I2). The electrochemical behavior of complex I was studied by cyclic voltammetry. Magnetochemical measurements revealed that when an external magnetic field is applied, both compounds exhibit the properties of field-induced single ion magnets.

Data on the synthesis and study of the crystal structure of [Li10(Piv)10(MeCN)2]n (I) and [Li6(Piv)6(MeCN)2]n (II) are presented. According to X-ray diffraction data (CIF files CCDC nos. 1957855 (I); 1955569 (II)), compounds I and II are 1D polymers composed of deca- and hexanuclear fragments, respectively, in which the lithium atoms are linked to one another by μ3- and μ4-bridging pivalate anions.

The mononuclear complexes [M(Fur)2(Bpy)(H2O)] (M = Cu (I), Zn (II)) were prepared by the reactions of copper(II) and zinc(II) acetates with 2-furoic acid (HFur) anion and 2,2'-bipyridine (Bpy) in acetonitrile. A similar reaction with ZnCl2 used instead of Zn(OAc)2 · 2H2O gave the complex [Zn(Fur)2(Bpy)] (III). The cobalt(II) complex [Co(Fur)2(Bpy)] (IV) was obtained by the reaction of cobalt trimethylacetate with HFur and Bpy. The structure of mononuclear complexes was determined by X-ray diffraction (CIF files CCDC nos. 1993168 (I), 1993169 (II), 1993170 (III), and 1993171 (IV)). Compounds I, III, and IV were studied for the biological activity in vitro against the nonpathogenic mycobacterial strain Mycolicibacterium smegmatis. It was found that I and III have high biological activity and are promising for further studies for antituberculosis activity.

The influence of arene/perfluoroarene ratio on the structure and crystal packing of carboxylate and nitrate-carboxylate complexes of Cd, Cd-Tb and Cu was studied, using the following compounds: pentafluorobenzoate (pfb) and 4-allyl-2,3,5,6-tetrabenzoate (Afb) anions and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) composition [Cd(pfb)2(phen)]n (1), [Cd(NO3)(pfb)(phen)]n (2), [Tb2Cd2(pfb)10(phen)2]. 3MeCN]n (3), [Tb2Cd2(NO3)2(pfb)8(phen)2.1.5MeCN]n (4), [Cu2(Afb)4(phen)2] (5), [Cu2(NO3)2(Afb)2(phen)2] (6). It is shown that the main contribution to the stabilization of the crystal packing of coordination polymers 1–4 and molecular binuclear complexes 5 and 6 can be attributed to non-covalent π···π, C-H···F, and C-F···π interactions. It was found that the partial exchange of pfb or Afb anions on compact NO3− anions leads to a decrease in steric hindrance, a more efficient overlap of aromatic fragments, and a significant change in the geometry of complexes. Synthesized compounds were characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis, IR spectroscopy, and CHN analysis. The thermal stability of complexes 1 and 2 was studied. Non-covalent interactions were analyzed using the Hirshfeld surface method.
