In this paper, a new one-dimensional fractional chaotic map is proposed and an image encryption scheme based on parallel DNA coding is designed by using the chaotic map. The mathematical model of the new chaotic system combines a sine map and a fraction operation. Compared with some traditional one-dimensional chaotic systems, the new chaotic system has a larger range of chaotic parameters and better chaotic characteristics, which makes it more suitable for applications in information encryption. In addition, an image encryption algorithm based on parallel DNA coding is proposed, which overcomes the shortcoming of common DNA coding-based image encryption algorithms. Parallel computing significantly increases the speed of encryption and decryption algorithms. The initial key of the cryptosystem is designed to be related to the SHA-3 hash value of the plaintext image so that the algorithm can resist a chosen-plaintext attack. Simulation experiments and security analysis results show that the proposed image encryption scheme has good encryption performance and less time overhead, and has strong robustness to noise and data loss attacks, which indicates that the proposed image encryption scheme has good application potential in secure communication applications.
In order to improve the security and efficiency of image encryption systems comprehensively, a novel chaotic S-box based image encryption scheme is proposed. Firstly, a new compound chaotic system, Sine-Tent map, is proposed to widen the chaotic range and improve the chaotic performance of 1D discrete chaotic maps. As a result, the new compound chaotic system is more suitable for cryptosystem. Secondly, an efficient and simple method for generating S-boxes is proposed, which can greatly improve the efficiency of S-box production. Thirdly, a novel double S-box based image encryption algorithm is proposed. By introducing equivalent key sequences {r, t} related with image ciphertext, the proposed cryptosystem can resist the four classical types of attacks, which is an advantage over other S-box based encryption schemes. Furthermore, it enhanced the resistance of the system to differential analysis attack by two rounds of forward and backward confusion-diffusion operation with double S-boxes. The simulation results and security analysis verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. The new scheme has obvious efficiency advantages, which means that it has better application potential in real-time image encryption.
In the edge computing and network communication environment, important image data need to be transmitted and stored securely. Under the condition of limited computing resources, it is particularly necessary to design effective and fast image encryption algorithms. One-dimensional (1D) chaotic maps provide an effective solution for real-time image encryption, but most 1D chaotic maps have only one parameter and a narrow chaotic interval, which has the disadvantage of security. In this paper, a new compound 1D chaotic map composed of a logistic map and tent map is proposed. The new system has two system parameters and an arbitrarily large chaotic parameter interval, and its chaotic signal is evenly distributed in the whole value space so it can improve the security in the application of information encryption. Furthermore, based on the new chaotic system, a fast image encryption algorithm is proposed. The algorithm takes the image row (column) as the cyclic encryption unit, and the time overhead is greatly reduced compared with the algorithm taking the pixel as the encryption unit. In addition, the mechanism of intermediate key associated with image content is introduced to improve the ability of the algorithm to resist chosen-plaintext attack and differential attack. Experiments show that the proposed image encryption algorithm has obvious speed advantages and good cryptographic performance, showing its excellent application potential in secure network communication.
This paper proposes a new two-dimensional discrete hyperchaotic system and utilizes it to design a pseudo-random number generator (PRNG) and an efficient color image encryption algorithm. This hyperchaotic system has very complex dynamic properties and can generate highly random chaotic sequences. The complex hyperchaotic characteristics of the system are confirmed via bifurcation diagram, chaotic attractor, Lyapunov exponents, correlation analysis, approximate entropy and permutation entropy. Compared with some traditional discrete chaotic systems, the new chaotic system has a larger range of chaotic parameters and more complex hyperchaotic characteristics, making it more suitable for application in information encryption. The proposed PRNG can generate highly random bit sequences that can fully pass all NIST testing items. The proposed color image encryption algorithm achieves cross-channel permutation and diffusion of pixels in parallel. These strategies not only greatly improve the encryption speed of color images, but also enhance the security level of cipher images. The simulation experiments and security analysis results show that the algorithm has strong robustness against differential attacks, statistical attacks and interference attacks, and has good application potential in real-time secure communication applications of color images.
In communication environments with limited computing resources, securely and efficiently transmitting image data has become a challenging problem. However, most existing image data protection schemes are based on high-dimensional chaotic systems as key generators, which suffer from issues such as high algorithmic complexity and large computational overhead. To address this, this paper presents new designs for a 1D Sine Fractional Chaotic Map (1D-SFCM) as a random sequence generator and provides mathematical proofs related to the boundedness and fixed points of this model. Furthermore, this paper improves the traditional 2D compressive sensing (2DCS) algorithm by using the newly designed 1D-SFCM map to generate a chaotic measurement matrix, which can effectively enhance the quality of image recovery and reconstruction. Moreover, referring to the principle of gene mutation in biogenetics, this paper designs an image encryption algorithm based on DNA base substitution. Finally, the security of the proposed encryption scheme and the quality of image compression and reconstruction are verified through indicators such as key space, information entropy, and Number of Pixel Change Rate (NPCR).
