Janusz Szemraj is a Molecular Biologist and Microbiologist. He graduated from the Faculty of Biology and Earth Sciences at the University of Lodz in 1980. He obtained his doctorate at the Department of Biochemistry, Medical University of Lodz (1993). He obtained his habilitation degree from the Department of Medical Biochemistry, Medical University of Lodz (2007). The title of professor of medical sciences is awarded by the decision of the President of the Republic of Poland (2014). Since 2017, he has been a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine of Lazarski University. His research areas include the molecular basis of lifestyle diseases (cancer, thromboembolism, and dementia) and the construction and analysis of the biological properties of drugs (antithrombotic, anticancer). He is a member of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) and the Polish Biochemical Society (PTBioch). He has patents for RGD k2 protein staphylokinase, a new recombinant protein with thrombolytic and antithrombotic properties. RP Patent.
