Piotr Czarny, PhD in biological sciences, geneticist, and graduate of the Interfaculty Studies in Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Lodz. In 2016, he defended his doctoral thesis with distinction and has been employed at the Department of Medical Biochemistry at the Medical University of Lodz since the same year. He has co-authored over 60 publications in international journals. His research focuses on the molecular basis of neuropsychiatric diseases and cancer, including interactions between the genome/epigenome and diet. He collaborates with world-class psychiatrists and geneticists. He acted as a manager and contractor in grants financed by the National Science Centre, the National Centre for Research and Development and a European grant under the Horizon 2020 programme.
