Thavasyappan Thambi received his BSc degree (2003) in Chemistry from Bharathiar University
and MSc degree (2005) in Chemistry from the University of Madras. He then worked for 3.5 years on the synthesis of biologically active molecules as a Scientist for Biocon. He moved to Sungkyunkwan University to receive his PhD degree in 2013, working in the field of microenvironment-specific polymeric nanoparticles for the imaging and therapy of intractable diseases. His research focuses on the development of hybrid nanomaterials and injectable polymeric materials for cancer therapy and tissueengineering applications.
