Prof. Dr. Marko D. Petrović is a Senior Research Associate at the Social Geography Department of the Geographical Institute “Jovan Cvijić” of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA) in Belgrade (Serbia). He contributes as an Honorary Fellow to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, College of Letters & Science, DPLA in Madison (WI, USA). He is also affiliated with Kaufman Lab for the Study and Design of Food Systems and Marketplaces at UW-Madison. He received his doctorate in geosciences from the University of Novi Sad, Department of Geography, Tourism and Hotel Management (Serbia). He is also a human geographer, and the corpus of his research, teaching, and mentoring focuses on understanding rural development and local economy, in particular agritourism, tourism’s impact assessment, community-based economy planning, spatial aspects of tourism, and geotourism. He has been Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the Geographical Institute Jovan Cvijic SASA since 2015. He also served as Guest Editor of the Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research, the Sustainability, the Frontiers in Psychology, and the Land.
