Zhen Zhang received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Ohio State University. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Minnesota. Subsequently, he has been with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, at Tsinghua University. Prof. Zhang’s research interests include the design, modeling and control of micro-/nano-precision mechatronic systems and applications in advanced manufacturing (e.g., ultrafast laser processing), and precision instruments (e.g. scanning probe lithography, AFM). He is an Associate Editor of ASME Letters in Dynamic Systems and Control and Topical Editor of the journal Micromachines. Prof. Zhang was a recipient of the Mechanical Industry Science and Technology Invention Award of China in 2021; and IEEE Int. Conference on Manipulation, Manufacturing and Measurement on the Nanoscale Best Application Paper Award in 2019, and Best Conference Paper Award in 2022; and IEEE/ASME Int. Conference on Mechatronic, Embedded Systems and Applications Best Paper in Applications in 2022.
