Prof. Dr. Hermann O Mayr is a renowned Orthopedic Surgeon and Trauma Surgeon who has been the Executive Physician of the Clinic for Orthopedic Surgery, Munich, Germany, since 2003. He is also a Research Associate in the Department of Orthopedic and Trauma Surgery at the University of Freiburg, Germany, and in 2012 was appointed Extraordinary Professor at the university. He was the Board Member of European Society of Knee Surgery, Arthroscopy and Sports Traumatology (ESSKA) (2016–2018), Chair of European Society of Knee Surgery, Arthroscopy and Sports Traumatology (ESSKA) Sports Committee (2014–2016), the President of the German Knee Society (DKG) (2012–2015), and President of the German Society of Joint Surgery and Arthroscopy (AGA) (2009–2011). In addition, he has served as the physician to the German skiing team since 1990. His primary research and clinical interests include bone replacement, revision surgery knee, arthrofibrosis, knee replacement, ligament surgery knee, joint infection, and measurement of knee laxity.
