Giuseppe Francesco Cesare Lama, Post Doctoral Researcher, holds an M.S. degree cum Laude in Environmental Engineering (2010) and a PhD in Agricultural Sciences (2020) from the University of Naples Federico II (IT). His research focuses on the hydrodynamic interaction between riparian vegetation and flow at real scale, based on experimental analyses and numerical modeling: - Direct and indirect measurements of hydraulic and riparian vegetation properties in real vegetated water bodies over Europe; - CFD models for the prediction of velocity and turbulence flow fields in real vegetated water bodies. He improved his knowledge of Ecohydraulics under the supervision of Dr. Juha Järvelä at the Department of Built Environment, School of Engineering, AALTO University in Finland, as a visiting PhD student (2018). He was awarded the Best PhD Paper Award at the 2020 International Workshop on Metrology for Agriculture and Forestry. He is a member of the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR).
