Prof. Yongfeng Shen received his M.D. in Metallurgy Science from Central South University, and his Ph.D. in Material Science from the Institute of Metal Research, CAS. Currently, he is a Professor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Northeastern University. His main research directions are the preparation and plastic behavior of high-performance ultrafine-grained/nanostructured metal materials; the microstructure and deformation mechanism of high-entropy alloys; and the experimental characterization or numerical simulation of the microstructure evolution and fracture failure of high-performance metal materials. He is an expert in degree and postgraduate education evaluation of the Ministry of Education, in random inspection and review of national undergraduate graduation projects of the Ministry of Education, in review of Academic Bridge, an outstanding review expert of the Fanke Review Quality Research Institute, a science and technology expert of Liaoning Province/Inner Mongolia/Hebei/Shanxi Province, and a director of the Liaoning Metal Society. He is a guest editor of Nanomaterials, and an editorial board member of Current Chinese Science, Current Applied Materials, and Current Chinese Nanotechnology. He has undertaken or participated in many National Natural Science Foundation projects, National Natural Science Foundation key projects, National Natural Science Foundation youth projects, National Science and Technology Support Program projects, etc.
