Prof. Dr. Vasile Lavric is a professor at the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnologies, National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest. He is also a member of the European Federation of Biotechnology, the Section of Biochemical Engineering Science, the Romanian Society of Bioengineering and Biotechnology, and the Romanian Society of Chemical Engineering. His research interests include biological, biochemical, and chemical reactors, system optimization and optimal control, unit operations in (bio)chemical technology, artificial neural networks and evolutionary/genetic algorithms, water and wastewater network optimization, chemical reactors' energy Integration and pinch analysis, bacteria’s TCA control structure modeling using Operon/Modulon Concepts and numerical methods in (bio)chemical and engineering.
