Dimitrios N. Bikiaris is a professor working in the Chemistry Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (https://bikiarislab.wixsite.com/bikiarislab). His research interests include the synthesis and characterization of polyesters, copolymers, biobased polymers, composites, and nanocomposites, as well as 3D printing, polymer recycling, the modification of natural polymers, the use of polymers for contaminant removal, microplastics, and the application of new biocompatible polymers in tissue engineering and pharmaceutical technology. His scientific work has been published in more than 550 papers, with over 25000 references and an h-index of 85 (Scopus). He has also written four chapters in international scientific books, and he holds 15 international patents. He has participated in more than 60 research projects. In 2020, he was ranked in 4990th position in the top 2% of world scientists (https://journals.plos.org/plosbiology/article?id=10.1371/journal.pbio.3000918).
