Helen is a Professor in Skeletal Tissue Dynamics in the Department of Orthopaedics and Musculoskeletal Science at UCL. The focus of her research is on the skeletal tissues tendon and bone and understanding the relationship between structure and function in the context of healthy skeletal tissues and pathways leading to disease, particular age-related changes. Alongside her research interests, Helen plays an active role in teaching and supporting student learning. She designed, implemented, and leads the MSc in Physical Therapy in Musculoskeletal Healthcare and Rehabilitation, leads several modules, and regularly gives lectures and tutorials.
