Prof. Dr. Long completed his PhD from Gifu University, Japan. He holds various posts as Professor II at the College of Life and Environmental Sciences, Minzu University of China, Beijing, China; Director of Key Laboratory of Ecology and Environment in Minority Areas of National Ethnic Affairs Commission of China; Research Professor at the Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Kunming, China; Chair of Ethnobotanical Commission of China Wild Plant Conservation Association; and Vice President of the Chinese Society of Ethnobotany. Since 1989, he has published 428 papers in national and international peer-reviewed journals, of which 236 were covered/indexed by Science Citation Index (SCI), including some in high categories, like Trends in Plant Science, Natural Product Reports, Conservation Letters, Industrial Crops and Products, Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, and Organic Letters. He has published over 20 books. He has received over 60 grants from various funding agencies, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, the Ministry of Education of China, and some international organizations.
