Global greenhouse gas emissions must be reduced to achieve net-zero carbon emissions. One of the solutions for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions is the adoption and transition from conventional vehicles to electrical vehicles (EVs). Previously, most research on EVs have been from a consumer adoption perspective, few of them are from industry transition and consumer adoption perspectives simultaneously. This also highlights the importance of SDG 12 (responsible for consumption and production). Additionally, the analyses were mostly obtained using one methodology and demonstrated only by weighting without relationships among factors. To consider the problem of adoption and transition, a systematic method should be developed. Therefore, this study intends to identify, prioritize, and display the relationship between EV adoption barriers from an automotive industry perspective using an analytic network process (ANP) and the decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) method. The research results show two contributions: First, the identified and prioritized barriers that automakers encounter in EV transition also explored the interrelationships among these barriers. Second, a model comparison of two multicriteria decision-making approaches was conducted to prioritize and identify the interlinkages among EV uptake barriers.

The effects of pH value, VUV intensity, initial dye concentration, initial H2O2concentration, and TiO2loading dose on the degradation of three azo dyes: acid Orange 8, acid Blue 29, and acid Blue 113 were studied to explore and compare the treatment efficiencies among the adopted AOPs. It was found that pH played an important role in the degradation of dyes using VUV irradiation. For VUV/H2O2, VUV/TiO2, and VUV/TiO2/H2O2processes, the decoloration rates of the three azo dyes were more efficient under acidic conditions relative to alkaline conditions. The degradation rates of dyes increased with increasing concentrations of H2O2, but reaction rates were retarded at high concentrations of H2O2because the H2O2compound acted as a scavenger of the hydroxyl radical. In this paper, three azo dyes were decomposed efficiently by VUV irradiation only demonstrating the effectiveness of VUV direct photolysis.
Age-related bone diseases are partly caused by impaired bone integrity, which are closely related to osteoblasts’ activity and angiogenesis. Endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) are the initiators of angiogenesis and found to have senescent-induced dysfunctions. The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of senescence in EPCs on osteogenesis and angiogenesis. Human primary EPCs and a murine osteoblast cell line (MC3T3-E1) are utilized in this study. The senescence of EPCs are induced by serial passages. When co-cultured with senescent EPCs, the osteoblasts demonstrate weakened alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity and mineral deposition. On the other hand, osteoblast-induced migration decreases in senescent EPCs. As for the intracellular alterations of senescent EPCs, the activation of Akt/mTOR/p70S6K pathway, MnSOD and catalase are diminished. In contrast, the level of reactive oxygen species are significantly higher in senescent EPCs. Furthermore, senescent EPCs has decreased level intracellular ATP level and coupling efficiency for oxidative phosphorylation while the non-mitochondrial respiration and glycolysis are elevated. The senescence of EPCs impairs the functions of both osteoblasts and EPCs, suggesting EPCs’ role in the pathophysiology of age-related bone diseases. Targeting the alterations found in this study could be potential treatments.
