After training as a research fellow at Harvard medical school and UCSF, he joined Shenzhen Bay Laboratory as an associate research professor. Dr. Liu is an enthusiastic researcher in precision cancer medicine and is passionate in developing radiopharmaceuticals and boron delivery agents for cancer molecular imaging and therapy. Dr. Liu has led multiple projects to reveal the vulnerabilities of cancers and study its underlying molecular mechanisms. Dr. Liu has been studying binary radiation therapy using molecular targeted drugs, immunotherapy and conventional radio-/chemotherapy. He has revealed multiple genomic and functional biomarkers for predicting therapeutic effects, which have given rise to a number of publications on notable scientific journals and conferences.
