Takayuki Takeda is the director of the Department of Respiratory Medicine at Japanese Red Cross Kyoto Daini Hospital. He received his M.D. in 2000 and completed his Ph.D. in 2007 at Kobe University Graduate School of Medicine. He completed his Ph.D. through the experiment of the adenoviral gene transduction of MRP-1/CD9 and KAI1/CD82 (encoding adhesion molecules) using the mice orthotopic lung cancer model, which inhibited mediastinal lymph node metastases (Cancer Res. 2007; 67: 1744-49). He has been serving as a guideline committee member of the Japan Lung Cancer Society since 2017.
