Imad L. Al-Qadi received the Ph.D. degree from Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA, USA, in 1990. He was the Charles E. Via, Jr. Professor with the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, VA, USA. He is currently the Bliss Professor of engineering with the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, Urbana, IL, USA, where he is also the Director of the Advanced Transportation Research and Engineering Laboratory (ATREL), Illinois Center for Transportation (ICT), and Smart Transportation Infrastructure Initiative (STII). His research interests include pavement modeling, analysis, evaluation, and sustainability, life cycle assessment, and nondesctructive testing and evaluation.
