J. Colomer-Farrarons received a B.S. degree in industrial engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in 2002, and an M.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, in 2005. He received a Ph.D. degree in engineering and advanced technologies from the University of Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain, in 2010. Since 2014, he has been a lecturer in the Department of Electronics and Biomedical Engineering and a member of the SIC Bio Research Group at the University of Barcelona. From 2002 to 2005, he worked as a researcher with the automotive
company Francisco Albero S.A.U., Barcelona, Spain. From 2005 to 2010, he was a research fellow at the SIC-Bio Lab, University of Barcelona. He was a visiting researcher at IMEC, Leuven, Belgium, in 2008. In 2011, he was worked on ultra-low-power low-voltage circuits at the Holst Centre, High Tech Campus Eindhoven, Eindhoven, the Netherlands. During two periods (August–December) in 2016 and 2017, he was a visiting professor at the Electrical and Biomedical Engineering Department, Technological Institute of Monterrey, Monterrey, Mexico. His research interests are low-voltage low-power circuits, smart instrumentation for automotive and medical applications, smart power systems for e-mobility, and technology transfer processes between universities and industry.
