Dr. Yang serves as a full research fellow in Academia Sinica, Taiwan (for details of his research, please refer to https://abrc.sinica.edu.tw/facultyE/?id=wcy).
Dr. Yang’s research aims to promote human and animal health, including (1) the identification of diagnostic and therapeutic targets of diabetes, followed by R&D of anti-diabetic remedies for humans and pets, (2) the identification of diagnostic and therapeutic targets of cancer, followed by R&D of anti-cancer remedies for humans and pets, and (3) R&D of phytogenics as in-feed additive and/or medicine for animal health. In this regard, he hopes to use phytogenics to enhance farm animal health.
His expertise covers agricultural biotechnology, natural products and medicine for human and animal health. To date, he has published over 70 high impact papers in agriculture- and medicine-related journals. He is also an editorial board member and/or guest editor in chief in eight international journals and a grant reviewer. Besides, he has also obtained 30 patents and 8 technology transfers. As a result, several products were licensed and commercialized locally and internationally. Diabetter is a herbal nutraceutical for diabetes, which has been on the market in Taiwan for 12 years. Rotam-CS is a phytogenic formulation for protozoal diseases in poultry. Rotam-CS was commercialized in Taiwan and abroad five years ago. EUBIO-Base is another phytogenic formulation for bacterial infections in swine.
