Momchil Terziev received an M.Eng. degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean And Marine Engineering, in 2018, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Analysis of ship performance in deep and shallow waters using CFD, Naval Architecture, Ocean And Marine Engineering) in 2020. He was awarded a Postgraduate Certificate in Researcher Development from the University of Strathclyde on 31 Jul 2020 and a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice from the University of Strathclyde on 6 September 2022. He is a lecturer in the Department of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Marine Engineering at the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow, UK), specialising in applied Computational Fluid Dynamics. His work focuses on the numerical modelling (virtual re-creation) of fluid flow around ships. In particular, he is interested in scale effects which cause discrepancies in performance between a model and prototype vessel, as well as shallow water effects on ship hydrodynamics. But he is also active in other sub-disciplines, such as discretisation uncertainty estimation, ship aero-hydrodynamics, and the more practical aspects of turbulence modelling. Alongside his research, he co-delivers joint teaching activities at the Harbin Institute of Technology, Weihai, China.
