I have completed my PhD in Biotechnology (Medicinal Plant Biotechnology) from Quaid-I-Azam University Islamabad in 2014 and then I have joined the University of Swat as Assistant Professor. My research interest is Plant Biotechnology/Medicinal Plant Biotechnology, Plant Cell, Tissue and Organ Culture, Greener synthesis of Nanoparticles and development of advanced cultures of medicinal plants of high commercial, economical and medicinally important. About 8000 Medicinal plants have always been considered a healthy source of life for the people. Traditional knowledge of medicinal plants is currently threatened in communities of developing countries by loss of traditional cultural systems and conservation of local agricultural and forest ecosystems. Plant Cell Culture is focusing on establishment of feasible and reliable production system for commercially important medicinal plant species. Enhancement of secondary metabolite content in plant cell and cryopreservation of rare/threatened and endangered plant species. Development of plant-derived antimicrobial agents, natural antioxidants, isolation and extraction of high-valued secondary metabolites through in vitro cell culture technologies, quantification of fine chemicals through various methods, use of wide-range of elicitors and precursors for enhanced production of important phytochemical, the use of nanotechnology in plant cell cultures etc. Currently, I have supervised 3 PhD students, 22 M. Phil students, 37 MSc students
