Dr. Ahad Behboodi is a Biomechanist holding BSc and MSc degrees in Biomedical Engineering and a PhD in Biomechanics and Movement Science from the University of Delaware. His academic journey led him to undertake postdoctoral training at the NIH's Functional and Applied Biomechanics section, where he innovated a brain-computer interface (BCI) system aimed at enhancing neurorehabilitation and motor coordination in children with neuromuscular disorders. Notably, his contributions also extend to the commercialization of a robotic ankle exoskeleton for this population during his postdoc at the Venture Development Center at the University of Delaware (UDel). Driven by a profound passion for advancing pediatric neurorehabilitation, his expertise extends across diverse domains, encompassing biological signal processing, movement analysis, artificial muscles, and neuromuscular electrical stimulation. Recently, he embraced the role of a tenure-track Assistant Professor within the esteemed Biomechanics Department at the University of Nebraska Omaha, marking a significant juncture in his journey. In this new academic capacity, he is poised to continue his fervent pursuit of enhancing the lives of neurodiverse children through the invention of translational and transformative rehabilitation technologies.
