An Staes has over 20 years of experience in the field of mass spec driven proteomics and thus far (co-)authored over 100 papers. She started off with the development of N-terminal proteomics and is currently obtaining her PhD on LC-MS DIA in proteomics while taking the lead in the mass spec innovations at the VIB Proteomics Core. Recently she became the president of BePA (Belgian Proteomics Association) in order to actively thrive the Belgian proteomics community. As head mass spec engineer at the VIB Proteomics Core facility, a reference centre for proteome research in Belgium and beyond she has tons of experience on LC-MS proteomics and keeps track of all innovations hereof so the VIB Proteomics Core facility is running with the state-of-the art technologies. The facility runs six state-of-the-art mass spectrometers and has extensive experience with all kinds of proteomics analysis. She is involved in the Core for life consortium of which VIB is part of as well. As a trainer in the BePA proteomics summerschool since 2019 and the VIB Proteomics Core basic proteomics training, she shares her experience to introduce researchers into the field of mass spetrometry based proteomics. https://scholar.google.be/citations?hl=en&user=60zbQ7EAAAAJ
