Argemiro da Silva Sobrinho received a bachelor's degree in physics from the State University of Maringá (1990), a master's degree in physics from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (1994), and a Ph.D. in genie physique from the Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal (1999). He is currently a professor at the Instituto Tecnologico de Aeronautica, Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil. He has experience in the field of physics, with an emphasis on the physics of plasma and electrical discharges, working mainly on the following subjects: processing of materials by plasma at low pressure and atmospheric pressure; development of SAW sensors; surface treatment of polymeric, metallic, and composite materials; ozone applications in water treatment, sewage, and disinfection; and development of plasma reactors.
