Dr. Belgin Sever is an Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, Anadolu University. Her research is mainly focused on the development of anticancer, antimicrobial, antidiabetic, anti-HIV, and anti-ALS drug candidates, especially based on medicinal chemistry and computational chemistry disciplines. She was awarded first rank in her graduation from Anadolu University, Faculty of Pharmacy in 2013. She received her MSc and PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Anadolu University, Faculty of Pharmacy in 2015 and 2019, respectively. After her PhD, she worked on anti-HIV drug development at Kumamoto University, Faculty of Life Sciences, Medicinal and Biological Chemistry Science Farm Joint Research Laboratory, Kumamoto, Japan, as a postdoctoral researcher of the Takeda Science Foundation International Fellowship Programme. She conducted anticancer research at the same laboratory, Kumamoto University, with TUBITAK 2219-International Postdoctoral Research Fellowship grant. Currently, she continues her research on anti-ALS drug development as a Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Postdoctoral Researcher in Japan at the same research laboratory, Kumamoto University. She was selected as "Young Woman Researcher" in the 7th Women Awards - Venus International Women Awards (VIWA) 2022. She was also awarded by the Turkish Pharmacists' Association - Academy of Pharmacy in 2022 for her contributions to pharmaceutical science.
