Ghadir Kalot is a second year PhD-student working in the cancer theranostics field, at the Institute for Advanced Biosciences, Grenoble, France. Within a high interdisciplinary environment of chemists and physicists, Ghadir carries out the biological evaluation of innovative boron-containing compounds, for cancer imaging (NIR II optical imaging) and therapeutic applications (Boron neutron capture therapy). Under the supervision of Dr. Lucie Sancey, Ghadir has acquired a wide range of preclinical biological tools, from in vitro 2D/ 3D cell cultures to in ovo chicken embryo model, to in vivo small animal models, that provide a clear idea of the compounds’ possible translation into the clinic. Prior to this “FRM-Fondation pour la Recherche Médicale” granted thesis, Ghadir had graduated her health engineering masters, thanks to the “Excellence Master scholarship” awarded by Grenoble Alpes University, for her excellent B.S in Biochemistry.
