I am a distinguished researcher in the field of Cotton Breeding & Genetics and led the Punjab Cotton Research System and supervised five allied Cotton Research Stations at Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Vehari, Bahawalpur, and Khanpur, and two Cotton Sub-Stations. I have been leading a team of about 65 cotton scientists and ˃200 helping staff at these places. I am a renowned cotton breeder & have developed & released 09 cotton varieties during the last 10 years (04 in 2021 only). These promising cotton varieties have contributed an additional benefit of Rs. 953.782 Billion (US$ 3.683 Billion) approx. to Pakistan's economy from 2020-2021 to date. Presently, I am working as Additional Director General (Research) at Ayyub Agricultural Institute, Faisalabad (Pakistan w.e.f. 01.12.2025 I was born and raised in a farming family in the Central Punjab of Pakistan. I have been very familiar with and sparked by countless hours spent exploring cotton production and management techniques. After completing my undergraduate studies in Plant Breeding & Genetics at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF), Pakistan, I joined the Punjab Agri.
