Information

Dr. Ioannis Lykakis studied chemistry (BSc) at the University of Crete, Greece, and expanded his knowledge in key areas of organic chemistry (MSc) and photocatalysis (PhD). Then, he joined the group of Dr. C. Chatgilialoglu in CNR in Bologna, Italy. In 2011, he was appointed as a Lecturer at the Department of Chemistry of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece, where he is currently an Associate Professor. His research interests focus on new catalytic strategies for chemical synthesis and green organic redox transformations (photo) catalysed by metal nanoparticles and polyoxometalates applied to synthesise heterocyclic biological active molecules.
