Dr. Gerasimos Armatas is a Chemist and Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Crete (UOC). He is the head of the Advanced Materials Chemistry Laboratory (www.materials.uoc.gr/armatas) at UOC. His research interests focus on the design, synthesis and structural characterization of semiconducting materials for applications in photocatalysis and electrocatalysis, as well as solar energy conversion, including green hydrogen production, CO₂ utilization, and environmental remediation.
