Marco Buffi is a Doctor of Industrial Engineering specializing in bioenergy and biofuels. He is currently a scientific project officer at the Joint Research Center of the EU Commission, Ispra (Italy). His main working area is GHGs emissions accounting and renewable fuels use and production. He has experience as a project manager in H2020 research projects on biomass and biofuels. Moreover, he is an expert in modeling advanced biofuels value chains. He designed and worked on several experimental units based on biomass thermochemical conversion in biofuels and bioproducts (pyrolyzers, gasifiers) and combustion (small-scale combustors, engines, and turbines). He collaborated with private and public institutions as a consultant. He also has experience in academic teaching and research.
