Maria Elena Menconi is an Environmental Engineer, having a Ph.D. in Sustainable Rural Development. Since 2005 she has been a member of the Department of Agricultural, Food, and Environmental Sciences of the University of Perugia (Italy), where she teaches Spatial Analysis and Landscape and Urban Planning. She is also the coordinator of the Landscape and Rural Buildings Research Group of the University of Perugia and she is a member of the Italian Society of Agricultural Engineering. Currently, these are the topics of her research: METHODS AND GIS-BASED TOOLS FOR THE SUSTAINABLE RURAL DEVELOPMENT; ENCHANCMENT OF THE ECOSYSTEM SERVICES PROVISIONING BY THE URBAN GREEN SYSTEM; NATURE-BASED SOLUTIONS TO IMPROVE CITIES’ RESILIENCE; METHODS AND TOOLS FOR LOCAL COMMUNITY’S INVOLVEMENT IN PARTICIPATORY LANDSCAPE PLANNING, DESIGN, AND MANAGEMENT.
