Patricio J. Espinoza-Montero is a chemist graduated at the School of Chemistry of the Universidad Central del Ecuador (2007); Master of Science from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de México (UNAM) (2009); Doctor of Science from UNAM (2014). He developed two research stays: 6 months at the Universidad Iberoamericana de México-Campus Santa Fe (2012), 6 months at the Michigan Stated University-USA (2013). He is currently a full-time professor at the School of Chemical Sciences in Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Ecuador (PUCE) and leads the Group of Fundamental and Applied Electrochemistry at PUCE (GEFA_PUCE). He has supervised 36 undergraduate theses, 9 master's theses and 3 doctoral theses in progress. Research lines: a) Advanced Oxidation Processes for wastewater treatment (Electrooxidation, Photocatalysis, Photoelectrocatalysis); b) Sensors, Biosensors and Immunosensors; c) Development of polymeric membranes using Electrospinning; d) Microbial Fuel Cells (MFC) and e) Foods.
