Working as an Assistant Professor at the Population Research Centre (PRC), Dharwad, Karnataka. I have completed Ph.D. at the International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai. My PhD dissertation assesses the occupational health hazards among municipal workers associated with sanitation work in the metropolitan city of Mumbai.
Thereafter, I have worked as the Senior Research Associate at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi. My research interest is Demography, Public Health, Maternal and Child Health, Social Stratification and Inequalities, Caste and Gender, and Health risk among marginalised workers in India. I am also working on neglected tropical diseases, non-communicable diseases, inequalities among socio-economic, religious groups in India.
As an Assistant Professor at PRC, I am involved in monitoring and evaluating different health policies and programmes including National Health Missions, National Health Flagship Programs, Public Health facilities/hospitals on behalf of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India. We are also implementing the National Family Health Survey (NFHS), Longitudinal Ageing Survey of India (LASI), and other small scale primary surveys as the field agency.
