Santosh Pandey is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Iowa State University. His laboratory is focused on systems that employ both sensors and analytics. His group is interested in applications of engineering for agriculture, livestock farming, and life sciences, along with faster and efficient collection of data, and data analysis for extracting key information. On the hardware side, his group has built various automated systems, microfluidic chips, and deployable sensors for nematode pests, bacteria, and micro-organisms in plant and animal science. On the software side, his group is building capabilities in imaging, data science, machine learning, deep learning, and bioengineering. They work closely with collaborators in other disciplines.
