I am Dr. Nuttapon Songnaka, pharmacist, a dedicated researcher specializing in the field of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs), with a particular focus on their application in combating antimicrobial resistance. I received my Ph.D. in Drug and Cosmetic from School of Pharmacy, Walailak University, where my research on the mechanisms of action and therapeutic potential of AMPs laid the foundation for my career in drug discovery and microbiology.
My research is driven by the urgent need to address the global threat of antimicrobial resistance, which poses a significant challenge to public health. I focus on exploring and identifying novel antimicrobial peptides from natural bacterial sources, harnessing the untapped potential of bacteria found in diverse natural environments. My goal is to discover and develop new antimicrobial agents that can overcome resistance mechanisms and provide effective treatments for resistant infections.
