Spyridon A. Kalospyros holds a PhD in the field of Radiobiology (his PhD Thesis is on the calculation of the induced DNA lesions in irradiated mammalian cells, after their irradiation with heavy ions, through the Mathematical Radiobiological Model, MRM and various Monte Carlo, MCTS, codes) and he is a member of the DNA Damage Lab, Physics Department, National Technical University of Athens, Greece. His research interests focus on the DNA damage assessment in irradiated cells with heavy ions, which are already being used in radiotherapy all over the world and others to be used in the future, through mathematical models and Monte Carlo simulations.
