Takeo Tadono received his B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. degrees in civil engineering from the Nagaoka University of Technology, Niigata, Japan, in 1993, 1995, and 1998, respectively. He is currently the Manager of the Advanced Land Observing Satellite (ALOS) series research in the Earth Observation Research Center, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, Tsukuba, Japan, where he is in charge of calibrations, validations, and research activities of ALOS, ALOS-2, and ALOS-4. His research interests include the calibration and validation of high-resolution optical instruments and synthetic aperture radar, as well as the development of algorithms for retrieving geophysical parameters from remote-sensing data, particularly in hydrology and forestry.
