Vittorio M. N. Passaro (Senior Member, IEEE) received a Laurea degree (cum laude) in Electronic Engineering from the University of Bari, Bari, Italy, in 1988, and a Ph.D. degree in Electronic Engineering from the Politecnico di Bari in 1992. He joined the Politecnico di Bari as an Associate Professor of Electronics in 2000, and as Full Professor of Electronics in 2021. Since 2004, he has been the founder and leader of the Photonics Research Group at the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering, Politecnico di Bari. He is the author or coauthor of more than 400 papers on integrated optical devices and sensors, with more than 5800 citations and h-index 40. Since 2021, he has been elevated to the grade of Optica Fellow.
