Dr. Yu Shi is an Assistant Research Professor at Peking University. He received his Ph.D. in Agricultural Resources and Environment from Northwest A&F University. His research focuses on agroecosystem modeling, climate change impacts on agricultural systems, and the resistance and resilience of dryland farming ecosystems. Integrating remote sensing, ecosystem modeling, and data-driven approaches, he investigates how extreme climate events and agricultural management practices influence crop production, greenhouse gas emissions, and ecosystem resilience. His interests include agroecological modeling, climate adaptation strategies, and the interactions between human management and environmental processes, with the goal of supporting sustainable agricultural development and improving decision-making under climate change.
Dr. Shi has published multiple research articles in leading international journals, including Nature Food, Global Change Biology, and Agricultural and Forest Meteorology. His work has contributed to advancing the understanding of climate–agriculture interactions and sustainable agricultural management under global environmental change. He has also received several prestigious honors and recognitions, including highly competitive national and university-level postdoctoral fellowships and funding programs for outstanding early-career researchers.
