I am Mukhammad Asy'ari, a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Chemistry at Universitas Diponegoro, Semarang. My research connects computational medicinal chemistry with wet-lab biology, combining molecular docking, MD simulation and DFT with enzyme kinetics and bioactivity assays. Current work examines how phenolic compounds stabilise the DR5-TRAIL apoptotic complex as a route to selective pro-apoptotic agents, alongside ADAM17/TACE inhibition by punicalagin-derived polyphenols. I also study natural products from extreme environments, including pigments from halophilic bacteria of the Madura salt ponds. I teach biochemistry, enzymology and chemical bioinformatics. My aim is to turn local biodiversity and local student talent into research that stands up internationally.
