I am a Docent in Mixed Reality in Science Education at the Faculty of Science, University of Turku (Finland) and Adjunct Lecturer at the Democritus University of Thrace (Greece). My research combines Computer Science and Education. I design, build and evaluate immersive learning applications across the Extended Reality spectrum (Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality). I also develop the design and oftentimes implement Learning Analytics frameworks that guide how these applications are made and evaluated. Gamification is at the core of both lines of work. I study how game elements can be embedded in the learning content itself and how they affect learners’ motivation and engagement. I have contributed to more than 20 R&D projects and authored 80+ publications in international scientific journals and conferences.
Listed among the World's Top 2% Scientists (Stanford/Elsevier, 2026).
